David ZicarelliBiographyDavid Zicarelli is an author of a number of music and audio software programs, including M, Jam Factory, OvalTune, Max, MSP, and Pluggo. His work concentrates on interactive tools and systems for composition, performance, and listening. In 1997 he founded Cycling '74, a San Francisco-based company that is focused on audio software. Cycling '74's most recent product is Pluggo, a collection of 74 audio plug-ins for creative sound design. Leslie StuckBiographyLeslie Stuck began learning Max in 1991, and soon began using it to compose algorithmic music for dance. He has composed music for the New York City Ballet, the Paris Opera Ballet, and the Tokyo Ballet.In 1992 he joined IRCAM in Paris as a musical assistant, where he used Max/FTS in building concert patches for Pierre Boulez and others. In 1996 he taught Max at Kunitachi Music College. He composed an interactive Max patch for "conFIGURING the CAVE" at the ICC. He joined Cycling '74, where he developped the MSP Example Patches. In 1998 he composed a dancer-controlled Max/MSP patch for the Kanagawa Arts Festival. He currently works as Technical Director at the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College. His book, "The Music Theory of theComputer Age" was published with Justsystem, Inc. He also published hisindependent production CD series, "Ascending Music for the End of theCentury". Masayuki AkamatsuBiographyHe has principally produced media works concerning music and computer. He is especially interested in building environments, as if thework itself is active, but independent, even though it is interactive. Heis a member of the algorithmic band "neumannpiano", the digital-analog hybridband "Wolfgang Nai", and the pure electric band "gaspillage". He also worksas a systems operator, "commu tele-presence lab." in BBS. His main worksare sound installations; "soundtronics field", the live act "ManMade series"and lately "incubator" with 50 iMacs.
