DSP SUMMER SCHOOL 2002 will be held from August 21 until 24 this year. The theme "Motion Sound and AudioVision" refers to a subject of relationship between sound and image, which will be discussed in terms of artistic, as well as technical points during the seminar. Joshua Kit Clayton will be invited as a guest of this year. His "jitter" will be focused on this seminar in conjunction with the main theme. The "jitter" is a new and powerful image processing library on Max/MSP. This will be shown first time in public during DSP SUMMER SCHOOL. A concert will be also taken place on the last day. The participants will learn Max/MSP/Jitter from an elementary level to an advanced level with an emphasis on the practical aspects. Each participant will use a computer during the workshop. Evening sessions are also prepared in order to cover additional themes and to exchange ideas, as well as to present artistic examples using Max/MSP/Jitter. Besides the instructors, all participants, artists in various fields, and researchers will gather and exchange ideas in this summer workshop, which is for those people interested in new possibilities of technology and artistic expression that Max/MSP/Jitter offers. Jitter is a new suite of image processing and 3D graphics objects for the Max/MSP graphical programming environment. Jitter is a flexible framework with which custom algorithms or effects may be built and used in a real time performance context. In addition to processing video and vector graphics, Jitter can be used to manipulate and visualize arbitrary matrix datasets with applications in audio, linear algebra, voxels, text, and more. |
